Building Rome is an independent American alternative rock band from St. Louis, Missouri. ==History== Building Rome has recorded four albums, the first being ''Something Left of Nothing'', released August 25, 2005, featured fifteen tracks including the first release of "Miss You More," Building Rome's first fan favorite which was re-released on their EP and second release ''Second Chance for Worst Impressions'', released November 10, 2006. ''Second Chance for Worst Impressions'' was recorded with producer Marc McClusky and features the song that has received the most live requests to date, "Gangster Baby," about a self-conscious gangster who wants to be a rapper, but is very unsure of himself. Building Rome's third release, entitled ''We're All So Bored...'' was a compilation of ''Second Chance for Worst Impressions'' as well as previously recorded demos, released January 27, 2008. The album in available exclusively online with a goal of giving new listeners a chance to have access to most of Building Rome's music in one place. Building Rome began to attract national attention with the release of their most recent album, ''Nightmare''. Released September 15, 2009, ''Nightmare'' is a concept album loosely based on the movie Jacob's Ladder. The album was produced by Steven Haigler, (who has worked with both The Pixies and Brand New), and features guest appearances from Tim Convy and Tim Ferrell of Ludo, Dave Grelle of The Feed, and Adam Barr of The Goodtime Engineers. In addition, two of the songs on the album ("Streetlights" and "Last Time Again") were co-written with Ted Bruner, a songwriter signed with Warner Chappell.
